Over two days and one night, you’ll develop essential paddling, navigation, and expedition camping skills while exploring the stunning Mahurangi region.

What to Expect

This journey is perfect for those new to sea kayaking, providing a supportive environment to learn and grow. Before departure, you’ll have access to online resources and an online planning meeting to ensure you’re fully prepared. Once on the water, our experienced instructors will guide you through:

• Kayaking Skills & Safety – Learn efficient paddling techniques, rescue skills, and how to handle different sea conditions.

• Navigation & Route Planning – Develop confidence in reading maps, tides, and planning safe paddling routes.

• Expedition Camping – Set up camp in beautiful sites such as Te Muri, Lagoon Bay, Mitre Bay, or Wenderholm.

• Leave No Trace Principles – Understand how to minimise environmental impact and respect the natural surroundings.
