Embarking on the Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze Adventurous Journey is an exciting opportunity to develop essential outdoor skills and connect with nature. Our Bronze Training and Practice Journey is a 2-day, 1-night adventure designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of kayaking and camping, setting a solid foundation for your qualifying journey.
Training Overview:
Online Component: Begin with an online training module covering essential topics such as team communication, navigation basics, and safety protocols.
Practical Experience: Join us in the picturesque Mahurangi Region of Auckland for two days and one night of hands-on learning. You'll camp at one of three accessible sites: Te Muri, Lagoon, or Mitre Bay.
What You'll Learn:
Kayaking Skills: Learn the basics of kayaking, including paddling techniques, safety measures, and equipment handling.
Camping Essentials: Gain experience in setting up camp, cooking outdoors, and navigating natural terrains.
Teamwork and Leadership: Develop communication and leadership skills through collaborative activities and shared responsibilities.
Next Steps:
After completing this training and practice journey, you'll be well-prepared for the qualifying journey, which can also be undertaken over a 2-day, 1-night trip in the same area.
